Editorial Policy

A Day in History is a DBA of LadyBoss Media LLC.

Our goal: to tell true stories about the past in plain English.

What we cover: real, well-documented events. We don't present rumors or myths as fact.

News headlines: the headline archive in "Travel Through Time" is not our editorial output. It shows headlines that are collected automatically from third-party public news feeds and displayed by date. We do not write, review or verify them. If a headline is wrong, please report it to the publisher. We may remove a headline, source or topic at any time. Headlines are found by fixed topic searches (for example Social Security and stimulus checks, plus general top stories), and no one pays for placement.

Sourcing: we aim for every fact to trace back to a source, and we prefer primary or reputable ones. Each story, timeline entry, birthday and quiz answer lists at least one source on the page where it appears. We don't make up quotes, statistics, or details.

Dates and disagreements: when historians or sources disagree, we say so or use careful wording.

Writing: we write in our own words.

Corrections: if you find a mistake, email info@todaysinhistory.com and include a source if you can. We correct confirmed mistakes and note significant changes.

Independence: if we ever show advertising, it will not influence what we write or which events we choose.

Not advice: our stories are general education only.
